It seems as though we’ve been seeing the”will they, won’t they” saga of Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier for an eternity. The rivals met on January 3, 2015 at UFC 182. Since then, this rematch was scheduled on two separate occasions, at UFC 197 and UFC 200, but neither materialized. So, here we are again, waiting to see if Jones vs Cormier II really happens but this time it’s advised for UFC 214.
When these two met for the gold back Jones was a -210 favorite with Cormier. “Bones” was tabbed as a -340 fave at UFC 197 and around the -270 scope for battles with”DC”. Jones is now a favorite that is -260 for the UFC 214 bout according to Bovada.
Jones had the series of title guards before being stripped with Bones defending his belt on eight consecutive occasions. Despite being 29 years old, with the 1 loss coming from disqualification against Matt Hamill at 2010 he has a career record of 22-1. Although his success over Ovince Saint Preux was lackluster, Jones still has a valid claim to being the best fighter to enter the Octagon.
Cormier has parlayed wrestling pedigree and his dimension to a 19-1 professional record. Specifically DC is 6-1 with three of the wins coming from submission.
